1. Troubleshooting WaveMail issues

An underlying Microsoft Exchange configuration issue may cause one or both of the following problems:

You cannot add a WaveMail provider using the impersonation account.
WaveMail cannot use the impersonation account to access configured problem

This problem may occur even if you successfully performed the steps to create the Exchange impersonation account for WaveMail to use and gave it impersonation rights as described in Configuring your e-mail provider for WaveMail. This is not a common problem and may occur as a result of migrating from an earlier version of Microsoft Exchange.

This problem can be recognized by WaveMail log entries similar to the following:

[07/08/2014 06:53:01.606 - info - EXCHWS - 1 ] InfiniTec.Exchange.Notifications.WebServiceInvocationFailedException during Subscription.Start for mailbox: ext=5366 : A call to the Exchange WebServices failed. Error: ErrorAccessDenied; Unable to subscribe. Check permissions.

If this problem occurs, the first thing to do is to double-check that the Microsoft Exchange impersonation account and permissions were set up correctly.

If they are correct, you then need to determine that Exchange Web Services (EWS), a method to interface to Microsoft Exchange used by WaveMail, is configured correctly. To do so, run the Exchange Best Practices Analyzer (EXBPA) and verify that EWS is correctly listed under "MSExchangeServicesAppPool" (instead of "Default App pool").

The EXBPA can be downloaded from Microsoft at:
